Alberts: Building Australia’s first investor diversity data standard

Equity Clear founding partner Alberts features Equity Clear’s Show Us the Data initiative, sharing insights from the national consultation process and the case for a more consistent approach to investment diversity reporting.

The article reflects on lessons emerging from roundtables across five states, where investors, founders, government, researchers and industry partners helped shape the framework and identify what would be needed for broad adoption. Executive Director and fifth-generation family member Kirsty Albert reflects on the importance of grounding the work in evidence and collaboration:

“Alberts has been a strong believer in Noga and the work she has done to champion DEI, collaborate across the ecosystem and ensure that the initiative is grounded in evidence. Without measurement, it’s very hard to drive change.”

Alberts’ support includes the secondment of Associate Ananya Dave to Scale Investors one day per week to work on Equity Clear, reflecting its broader commitment to systems-level change across Australia’s innovation economy. In Kirsty’s words:

“This is exactly the kind of fit-for-purpose collaboration needed to build a credible evidence base, unlock opportunity for investors, improve capital flows to founders, and help shape a stronger, more equal world for all.”
